Good Bye from 1st Class Maid Jamie...

My darlings!

Molly & Carter, to say I adore you is putting it mildly! I'm crazy, over the moon in love with both of you. We've been friends at first sight since you first came to the Titanic. All of the fun times we've had at the ship will always stay in my heart as some of my best memories & I'll treasure every sweet kiss you have me. You both have touched soooo many people with your soft, kind eyes, your big hearts, & adorable faces. I really love all of the times we got to spend rolling around in the grass in Titanic's back yard, you were such a good sport for modeling the sunglasses with me lol!

Loving you so much inspired me to get my very own puppy. He is a miniature dachshund (weenie dog) his name is Prince & he LOVES to bark! A lot! I love him soooo very much & I've told him all about you! He says thank you for being there for me before he could come along & be my very own doggy. I know that Molly, Carter, & Jamie will stay friends for a very long time! I love you very much,

Aunt Jamie

Good Bye from 1st Class Maid Misha...

Left to Right: Molly, Misha Lee, Carter

Dear Molly & Carter,

I have so many wonderful memories of the two of you. I have seen you both bring so many smiles to so many people of all ages. You will be missed, not only by all of your fans, but also by your Titanic family. I know you both will continue to touch the hearts of people everywhere you go. I wish you two the best and hope you visit your crew soon. Love You!!

~First Class Maid Misha Lee

"Aww, Carter, remember this picture with sweet Misha?"

"Um, not really. I think I must have slept through it."

"Wow, look at how nice our hair looks!"

"Did Misha do our hair that day?"

"No, silly, she does human hair! Maybe we can go to cosmetology school when we retire!"

"Cosmo-what?"

"It's where you learn how to make people beautiful."

"But we're dogs."

"Oh, never mind, Carter!"

We love you Misha Lee! Thanks for the good-bye letter!

Good Bye from Officer Rod...

From left to right: Carter, Rod, Molly
My Dear Molly & Carter,

How sad I was to hear of your impending retirement!  Then again, you have indeed had a full career with us here at Titanic!  After all, in dog years, you've been doing this for almost 28 years!  That is indeed a very long time to work as hard as you girls work.  I simply can't imagine what it must be like to ride around the museum in a carriage and have hundreds of people petting you all the time, and then the tricks you do!  You amaze me every day!

Molly, I will miss giving you those belly rubs and finding your tickle spot, seeing your bright smile coming into work everyday.

Carter, I am going to miss your laid back attitude.  You have turned lying around and absorbing adoration into an art form...Bravo, my dear!

Well ladies, it is time to sign off.  As the Goldsmith family says, I won't say goodbye because that is forever.  I'll just say to you now...see you later!

All my love to you both!

Good Bye from Jerimiah...

Left to Right: Molly, Jerimiah, Carter

Molly & Carter,

I remember being asked to partake in your introduction right after I started at the corporate office and how much fun it was. I don't see you everyday, but I do remember when you came by and tried your hands at Accounting! I think I am still finding dog hair in my keyboard!

I do enjoy being able to see all your pictures on Facebook and catch up with you on your Blog. You have truly touched the crew members' and passengers' lives, and helped brighten even the gloomy days. While you may be semi-retired now, I'm sure you will be busy catching up on your reading and artwork.

All the Best,
Jerimiah

Captain David Good Bye...

Left to Right: Captain David, Molly, Officer Mick

Dear Molly & Carter,

Hi, my name is Tatum.  I am a girl Beagle and my human is Captain David.  I have not met you two, but I know you because I can smell all about you on my human when he comes home after being gone during the day.  He knows I can smell you when I sniff him, and he tells me all about your adventures.

Left to Right: Captain David, Carter

He says you are very nice to everyone and he looks forward to seeing you because it always brightens his day. He says he really likes the way little humans act when they see you and pet you.  He told me he is not going to see you very much next year, but I don’t know what a year is.  He says he will miss you and I won’t get to smell you as much as I do now.

Molly & Maddie (The Captain's granddaughter!)

He said it makes him sad that he won’t see you as much, but he is more sad that the little humans won’t get to pet you anymore.  Maybe we can meet someday and play chase each other!

Love, Tatum

"Molly, we have a new friend! Thanks for writing us Tatum!"

"We would love to play chase with you!"

"Only if Maddie and Patty are there!"

"But we love you too Captain!"

"We'll miss you and want to thank you for letting us take the helm of Titanic!"

Good Bye from Eric... AKA Patrick O'Donnel

Molly & "Patrick"

To Molly & Carter,

How to describe what these two little girls have done in our lives? They have not only brought our guests joy, but they have also filled our lives with timeless memories, love and compassion. Together they have changed the story, the face, and ultimately the history of Titanic.

Girls, I am really going to miss you. From those peaceful, sleeping faces in the kennel, to watching you in the back, munching away at frozen chunks of frigid ice. Oh how you love to eat ice!

I love you like sisters, and I am proud of you. I am proud of what you have accomplished, and the many more accomplishments that are to come.

God's Blessings be with You!
Your friend,

Eric Green

Good Bye from Danita...

Left to Right: Matt, Carter, Danita, Molly

Dear Molly and Carter,
I knew what kind of impact you would probably have with our guests, but I had no idea the magnitude of feelings that would come from the crew.   Our officers melt when you greet them with your wagging tails and running gait and our maids look for you around every corner so they might have an opportunity to give back the love that you so freely give to them.

You touched a lot of lives during the time you were on the ship,  including ours.

It will be hard not to see you every day but I am so happy for both of you.   Enjoy your semi-retirement.

Lots of dog kisses, Danita

Good Bye from Officer Jack... AKA George Brereton...

"George" and Carter

Hey Molly and Carter,
Enjoy semi-retirement!  You deserve it after 28 years of service at the Titanic.
Jack

"Uh, Molly, why did he say, "after 28 years of service at the Titanic? We've only been here four years."

"It's this thing humans do, Carter. They convert everything to 'Dog Years.'"

"Dog years?"

"Yes, you multiply the number by 7."

"So I'm really 35!? I'm ancient!"

"Carter, you have more pressing things to worry about, like WHY, for goodness sake you ALWAYS have your tongue out in pictures!"

"I like to lick my nose. It feels good."

"If you say so."

"I DO say so, and I also want to say, 'BYE JACK!'"

Farewell from Officer Sean...

From Left to Right: Molly, Sean, Carter

Saying Good-Bye,

Wow. I can honestly say this has been difficult for me to put into words. How does someone begin to say good bye? I know they may only be dogs to some people, but to us here at the Titanic, they're a lot more than that. To us, they're crew members. They work hard, play hard, and greet passengers just like we do.

I can't remember what we used to do before Molly & Carter showed up. I know we used to have an empty office representing what Thomas Andrews would have used, but it's hard to believe just how empty our lives were before they arrived. As of right now, I can't imagine them not being here every day.

It's a strange time when that kennel is empty. It feels like something is missing. And that's what it will be like, day after day when they "Semi-Retire." It will feel like part of our crew is missing.

I'll miss a lot of things about Molly & Carter, mostly their tricks and the way they get excited when they see crew members they recognize. But most of all, I think I'll miss the way they patiently wait for ice and how excited they get when it finally arrives. That's one of my favorite things about them.

Farewell Molly & Carter! Thank you for teaching the world about ten dogs that now, thanks to you, will never be forgotten.

With Love,

Officer Sean

Good Bye from Maid Erickia...

From Left to Right: Carter, Erickia, Molly

Dear Molly & Carter,

How does one congratulate you two beautiful girls on all the great work you have done in one short letter? I'm not even sure it's possible! You two are the heart of our crew here on Titanic, and I know you will be missed. Well, we will miss you. I'm sure you will be too busy with your amazing adventures to miss us much! You will have to remember to stay in touch, whether it be a letter, a message in a bottle, or morse code!

I remember my first day here. I was so nervous about messing something up, but a few hours in, I got to meet you lovely gals! Momma Kelli brought you by the staircase to meet the new crew members, and you both licked my hand! I instantly felt welcomed!

I really hope everything you do in the future makes you both truly happy! I shall miss you with all my heart! Au revoir et bonne chance mes amours! (Good bye and good luck, my loves!)

1st Class Maid Erickia

Good Bye from Officer Eric...

From Left to Right: Carter, Eric, Molly

Dear Molly & Carter,

I'm writing to say how much I'll miss the two of you being around. It was Wednesday through Sunday where working at Titanic had been a little more special. Whether I was at the map, the Grand Staircase, or upstairs, you would always come by and visit with our guests. I remember watching everyone in the room look in "awe," knowing they got to meet two of our most important 1st Class Passengers on board Titanic. That is something I will dearly miss about having you two here.

I know that I will always remember you two, but having a photo with you is what made my memory so much fonder. You have always made everyone's day a little brighter, and it will be sad to see you both leaving. I hope your retirement will be great. You still have many dog years left. Enjoy yourselves "off" the Titanic and welcome to a new world!

With Love from Your 1st Class Officer,
Eric

Good Bye from Officer Christopher...

From Left to Right: Molly, Christopher, Carter

Dear Molly & Carter,

I am very sad knowing that we won't be spending as much time together next year. I've only known you a short time, but I already think of you as good friends. You bring so much joy to the crew members and our guests. Please come back to visit at the museum, and feel free to stop by my home to meet my cats. I think you would get along.

To quote one of my favorite dog movies, The Fox and the Hound

"Good-bye may seem forever; farewell is like the end,
But in my heart's a memory,
And there you'll always be."

We love you Molly & Carter!

Sincerely,
Officer Christopher

Good Bye from Officer Larry...

Left to right: Carter, Larry, Molly

Dear Molly & Carter,

I wish you the best with your retirement. It is time to enjoy the new adventures that await you! I hope your days are filled with as much joy and happiness that you have brought to Titanic's crew and passengers. Thank you for all the memories and good times. May your noses stay wet and your tails always wag.

Love,
Officer Larry

Good Bye from Maid Cheri...

From left to right: Molly, Cheri, Carter

Dear Molly & Carter,

As you embark on your new adventures, I wish you many blessings!
May the road rise up to meet you, and a cold nose to greet you!
May your tails always be wagging, and your lives never be lacking!
For you touched this crew member's heart with each and every paw print art.
I do love you so, although I know you need to go!
So many blessings I send your way because you bless so many crew members days!

Love you always,

Maid Cheri

Molly & Carter to Get a New Leash on Life in 2014!

Branson, MO. 2013 -  At  year’s end, the Titanic Museum Attraction’s official mascots, Molly and Carter will be joining the Titanic Reserves after serving  4-years of active duty on board ship, announces Titanic’s co-owner, Mary Kellogg-Joslyn

CARTER

“Molly and Carter embarked on their career with us in  2010.  Since then they’ve become known far and wide for their work honoring the 10 dogs that were on Titanic and for their good deeds in support of the Humane Society, schools and students, businesses and community events,” says Kellogg-Joslyn.  “They’ve developed such a large fan following we had to create a Facebook page and Blog just for them.  Now it’s time for our little celebrities to just be dogs, living out their life away from the spotlight.”

MOLLY

December 31, 2013 will be Molly and Carter’s last full day at the ship but they’ll return on special occasions, holidays, and during themed events throughout next year. Beginning January 1, 2014, these two loveable King Charles Spaniels will be at home with their current handlers, Kelli Sanders and  Kelly Riley and Kim Breit.

So now the clock is ticking for visitors who’d like to meet the “girls,” take pictures with them and bid them bon voyage. “Words can’t express the deep thanks and respect I have for Kelli and Kelli and Kim,”  says  Kellogg-Joslyn.  “Their love and devotion to Molly and Carter have been unwavering and truly heartfelt. We’ve weathered many storms together and they, along with Molly and Carter, will always be part of the Titanic family.”

To All of Our Friends & Fans: We Love You!!

Hope to See You This Year!

Titanic Dogs Get International Exposure!

Our friends from Russia!

"Carter, wasn't it amazing to meet all of these tourism professionals from Russia!?"

"And the representative from the U.S. Department of Commerce! I felt very important!"

"Well, our job WAS very important! Hosting international guests is no easy task! We all speak different languages!"

"Well, Molly, everyone speaks my language - the language of LOVE!"

We needed no interpreter for this communication!

"Carter, you're such a ham. Everyone thinks I'm the one who wants the spotlight, but look at how you stole the attention of this girl! I was snubbed!"

"You're just jealous, Molly. Everyone always flocks to you because you're so cute, and small, and dainty. Meanwhile, they all think I'm a boy! So let me enjoy this moment please!"

"Well, you ARE right about one thing...I AM pretty cute!"

"Yes, you are, but a little difficult, and maybe even a little bossy. That's why you haven't found true love yet."

"Who are you? Dear Abby?"

"Well, I'm just thinking of my sweet Brojan coming this week, and I kind of felt bad that you don't have a Brojan in your life."

I don't need a man! I have all my girls!

"Um...Biscuit is a boy."

"That's not the point! Let's get back to WHY Brojan is coming - besides to see his true love!"

"Brojan is coming with his mama, Helen Benziger, the great-granddaughter of Margaret Tobin "Molly" Brown!"

"Yes, Carter, she will be here for two days, June 20th & 21st, only. If any of you reading this have never met her it is a MUST! She's fabulous!"

"How often do you get a chance to meet a direct descendant of the 'Unsinkable Molly Brown?'"

"Or a Titanic author? Tammy Knox, author of Trapped on the Titanic, will be here this Thursday and Friday too!"

"Molly, do you know any other dogs that get to meet as many famous people as we do?"

Uh, maybe the 1st Dog, Bo Obama?

"He doesn't count!"

"Why not?"

"Because he's a Portuguese Water Dog that can't even swim!"

"Ooohhh, we have something in common! Maybe I can date him!"

"Ugh, Molly, you're hopeless!"

If you enjoy our antics and want to hear more, come visit us at the Titanic Museum Attraction!
Come tomorrow or Friday and you'll also get to meet Titanic descendant
Helen Benziger, and Titanic author Tammy Knox!
See you there!
Love,

  Molly & Carter

The Official Kick-Off of Summer!

  Memorial Day Weekend

"Carter, I am so excited for Memorial Day Weekend at Titanic! It marks the kick-off of the summer vacation season!"

"But, Molly, Memorial Day is about more than that."

"It is?"

"Yes. It is a day of remembering the men and women who died while serving in the United States Armed Forces. Without their sacrifice, we wouldn't enjoy many of the freedoms we have today."

"Carter, I thought I was the smart one of the two of us."

"I have my moments!"

"Wait, haven't dogs served in the Armed Forces?"

Yes, and they should be remembered too.

"That's kind of like what we do at the Titanic everyday isn't it?"

"Yes, Molly. We honor the lives of those lost on the Titanic by keeping their memory alive and telling their stories."

"Wow. I feel very special to share the stories of the dogs that were on board the ship."

"Me too. I'm also VERY excited about telling more of the story of Wallace Hartley! Do you know why???"

"Of course! For the first time EVER the violin that he played as the Titanic sank, that he held onto in the icy waters, that was a special gift from his fiancee - THAT VERY VIOLIN - for the first time EVER is in the United States and will be on display right here at our ship from August 1st - August 15th!"

This is a priceless piece of Titanic history!
"For Wallace
on the occasion of our engagement
From Maria"
"Wow, Carter, can you imagine the things this violin has seen? From proudly presenting itself in its pristine beauty, a gift of love that symbolized the hope and promise of a new life unfolding....to basking in its glory, at home in the hands of the skilled musician, producing sounds that tickled the ears of Titanic's most elite passengers...to the plunge into darkness - those skilled hands now clinging to its leather case as final breaths were drawn...(deep sigh)"

"I'm speechless....Molly, I felt really smart until two minutes ago - you used a lot of big words."

"Well, I AM going to be a New York Times Best Seller, remember?"

"If you say so."

"I am, Carter. One day when I retire from my post I will write books!"

"Retire!?"

"Sure. Haven't you ever thought of what you'll do when you're not working at Titanic?"

A vacation in the Bahamas???
"Well, I have big ambitions!"

"Me too - like laying on the sand, soaking up the sun and drinking a tall glass of iced tea!"

"You're hopeless, Carter!"

"Well, Molly, until that day comes we are at our posts at Titanic and our friends can come to see us all summer long!"

What are you doing this summer? Come visit us at the Titanic Museum Attraction in Branson!

Hope to see you soon!
Love,
Molly & Carter

Titanic School Daze!

"Ahh, spring is finally here and the school year is coming to a close!"

"So that's why we have seen so many students! They're skipping school!"

"No, Carter, they are here with their teachers!"

"Well, all I've seen is children and teenagers! Boy, do they love me!"

"And they love learning too! The choirs and orchestras learn about Titanic's musicians, and the classrooms on field trips have studied Titanic in school!"

Remember the group that performed for us, Molly!?

"Oh yes, but nothing beat the choir that sang for us at the Grand Staircase last week! They were angelic!"

"It has been so fun to teach all the little ones fun Titanic facts!"

And to have them touch an iceberg!

"How do you do it, Molly, brrrrr.... it's so cold!"

"Not as cold as the 28 degree water was!"

"They can really imagine what it was like to try to stay out of that water when we do the lifeboat drill."

History comes alive in our interactive gallery!

"And every student loves to hear the story of their passenger! Were they rich or poor? Hero or coward? Saved or lost?"

"We inspire education!"

"That's right, Carter, and that's why we are honoring educators this May!"

Have you been studying Titanic? Would you like to learn more?

We invite all educators to come visit us in May!
"Teacher Appreciation" May 1st - 19th!

Come share in the joy of learning!

Wild Animals!

It's a Jungle Out There!
Don't we look like wild things!?

"Well, Carter, we get to joke around about this, but animals on the loose can really be a danger to your family."

"That's why it is so important to have an Animal Control Officer in your county!"

"We got to visit our Health Department a few days ago to show our appreciation for our local Animal Control Officers!"

"It was so much fun!"

We gave a special gift to Sherry!

"She was so happy that she gave us a kiss!"

That was a great way to say thank you!

"After giving our gift we got to ask Sherry lots of questions!"

"That's right, Carter. She told us all of the important work that they do to help keep people and animals safe."

"Like helping animals that are hurt or left all alone. I would be scared if I was hurt and alone!"

"Me too!"

"Sherry told us that Animal Control also responds to emergencies, and when people call about animals that have no home, they can come and pick them up!"

"Carter and I got to meet some of the animals that they have rescued. They were so nice! They said they were excited to have a family soon!"

Say hello to our little friends!

"Right here in our county, Sherry and her friends have been able to place over 500 animals in rescues and over 200 in homes with families of their own!"

"The adoption rate went from 4% in January 2012 to 60% in December of 2012! Great job to all of you!"

"But, Molly, remember what she said about black dogs?"

"Yes, Carter. We were sad to hear that black dogs have the lowest adoption rate, but happy to hear that our friends work hard to help them get into families."

"They are helping to raise awareness of Black Dog Syndrome! I think black dogs are beautiful!"

So is our Mama Kelli!

"I was surprised that both our Mamas didn't bring home more dogs and cats!"

I thought for sure this would be our new playmate!

"We didn't get a new brother or sister yesterday, but we know how you can bring one of our friends home with you!"

"Carter is right! It's so easy to do! You can go to Pet Finder, or Taney County Health Department, or you can just call Taney County Animal Control!"

"You can even adopt from out of state!"

"Didn't it make you feel good to visit and make so many new friends, Carter?"

"It was very special, Molly, and so are our Animal Control Officers, and all of our friends at the Health Department. They do important work and we are thankful for them!!!"

We hope you are all learning a lot during our
Pet Education Month!

Love,

Molly & Carter
