Titanic School Daze!

"Ahh, spring is finally here and the school year is coming to a close!"

"So that's why we have seen so many students! They're skipping school!"

"No, Carter, they are here with their teachers!"

"Well, all I've seen is children and teenagers! Boy, do they love me!"

"And they love learning too! The choirs and orchestras learn about Titanic's musicians, and the classrooms on field trips have studied Titanic in school!"

Remember the group that performed for us, Molly!?

"Oh yes, but nothing beat the choir that sang for us at the Grand Staircase last week! They were angelic!"

"It has been so fun to teach all the little ones fun Titanic facts!"

And to have them touch an iceberg!

"How do you do it, Molly, brrrrr.... it's so cold!"

"Not as cold as the 28 degree water was!"

"They can really imagine what it was like to try to stay out of that water when we do the lifeboat drill."

History comes alive in our interactive gallery!

"And every student loves to hear the story of their passenger! Were they rich or poor? Hero or coward? Saved or lost?"

"We inspire education!"

"That's right, Carter, and that's why we are honoring educators this May!"

Have you been studying Titanic? Would you like to learn more?

We invite all educators to come visit us in May!
"Teacher Appreciation" May 1st - 19th!
"Titanic Honors Home School" Now thru May!

Come share in the joy of learning!

Wild Animals!

It's a Jungle Out There!
Don't we look like wild things!?

"Well, Carter, we get to joke around about this, but animals on the loose can really be a danger to your family."

"That's why it is so important to have an Animal Control Officer in your county!"

"We got to visit our Health Department a few days ago to show our appreciation for our local Animal Control Officers!"

"It was so much fun!"

We gave a special gift to Sherry!

"She was so happy that she gave us a kiss!"

That was a great way to say thank you!

"After giving our gift we got to ask Sherry lots of questions!"

"That's right, Carter. She told us all of the important work that they do to help keep people and animals safe."

"Like helping animals that are hurt or left all alone. I would be scared if I was hurt and alone!"

"Me too!"

"Sherry told us that Animal Control also responds to emergencies, and when people call about animals that have no home, they can come and pick them up!"

"Carter and I got to meet some of the animals that they have rescued. They were so nice! They said they were excited to have a family soon!"

Say hello to our little friends!

"Right here in our county, Sherry and her friends have been able to place over 500 animals in rescues and over 200 in homes with families of their own!"

"The adoption rate went from 4% in January 2012 to 60% in December of 2012! Great job to all of you!"

"But, Molly, remember what she said about black dogs?"

"Yes, Carter. We were sad to hear that black dogs have the lowest adoption rate, but happy to hear that our friends work hard to help them get into families."

"They are helping to raise awareness of Black Dog Syndrome! I think black dogs are beautiful!"

So is our Mama Kelli!

"I was surprised that both our Mamas didn't bring home more dogs and cats!"

I thought for sure this would be our new playmate!

"We didn't get a new brother or sister yesterday, but we know how you can bring one of our friends home with you!"

"Carter is right! It's so easy to do! You can go to Pet Finder, or Taney County Health Department, or you can just call Taney County Animal Control!"

"You can even adopt from out of state!"

"Didn't it make you feel good to visit and make so many new friends, Carter?"

"It was very special, Molly, and so are our Animal Control Officers, and all of our friends at the Health Department. They do important work and we are thankful for them!!!"

We hope you are all learning a lot during our
Pet Education Month!

Love,

Molly & Carter

Pet Education Month

Who's Your Daddy?

"Carter, wouldn't it be more appropriate to say, 'Who's Your Mama?'"

"Yeah, but I like the sound of 'Who's Your Daddy?' better."

"I like that picture of you giving a high five - and you know it takes a lot for me to say something nice about a picture of you!"

"Well, thank you, Molly. Mama Kelli took that picture. It's just one of the things our Dog Handlers do to take care of us and make us look good!"

"Wasn't it fun to teach the kids about what it takes to be a dog handler?!"

Click Here to read all about it!

"It was great to be a teacher, Molly! I think it could be my second career choice!"

"I'd like to see you in a classroom - I can just imagine all the naps you'd take and all of the kids taking turns petting you. They would never get any work done!"

"Well, I am hard to resist. I think it's my big, brown eyes and my soft fur."

This is the face that makes them fall in love!

"OK, Ms. Beautiful, let's get back to teaching - see what I mean! We're already getting distracted by 'The Teacher.'"

"OK, OK! Hey - did we tell them about our Pet Report?"

"Not yet!"

"Every week we get to sponsor the 106.3 KRZK Pet Report to help connect lost pets to their owners!"

Listen to this week's Pet Report

"We like to do all we can to help our furry friends! That's why we've made April our 'Pet Education Month.'"

"And we get to teach our readers all about caring for their pets!"

"It is very important to take good care of your dog, cat, fish, bird, or whichever pet you choose to adopt into your family."

"That's right, Molly, and that's why we ask the all important question, 'Who's Your Daddy?'"

"Or, 'Who's Your Mama?'"

"Are YOU a pet parent? If you are then you need to read our fun article about how to care for your pet! Look for it on our Pet Education Page in a few weeks!"

Every pet deserves to be healthy and happy!

"Oh, and Molly, we have to let our readers know about my boyfriend, Brojan."

"Carter, you are really sassy today! And Brojan is not your boyfriend!"

"Well, he might be one day! He is dreamy! I've always loved a man in uniform!"

Brojan is a service dog specializing in mobility and stability!

"And this was our first kiss..."

"Carter! There are children reading this blog!"

"Sorry - it was just such a special moment! (sigh)"

"The point that Carter, the 'Great Teacher,' was supposed to make here is that we interviewed Brojan about what it takes to be a service dog. Look for the interview on our Pet Education Page next week.....Carter....Carter!"

"Huh, what... oh, yes, pets and vets...all very important...is that what we were saying?"

"Yes, Carter, Pet Education Month, remember?"

"Yes. Of course I do! There is so much to learn this month! Be sure to visit our Facebook, web site and, of course, our museum!"

We'll be right here to greet you!

With Puppy Love,
(and Carter has a lot of it!),

Molly & Carter
